Terms & Conditions
Any use of the Irish Gourmet website is subject to the user agreeing to the following Terms and Conditions.
These conditions shall apply to all online transactions between Irish Gourmet.co.uk (“Irish Gourmet”) and any person, firm or company (“the Purchaser”) placing an order online with Irish Gourmet for the manufacture and/or supply of any goods (“the Goods”). Irish Gourmet, by accepting any order for Goods from the Purchaser, agrees to sell and the Purchaser agrees to purchase such Goods at the price stated on Irish Gourmet website and on the sole basis of the terms and conditions of Irish Gourmet stated herein.

All prices quoted on this site are in GB Pounds. We accept payment online by Visa, MasterCard, Visa Debit, Electron, Delta, Solo, JCB and Paypal. You may also pay 'offline' via Cheque (made payable to Basketsgalore Ltd) or Bank Transfer.
A credit account may be opened by corporate clients, subject to trade references and application approval, on the strict condition that payment is made within 30 days from date of invoice. Please contact us for more information.
In the unlikely event that an incorrect price is shown on our website, Basketsgalore reserves the right to abstain from fulfilling the order at that price. The customer will be notified by email informing them of the correct price, and given the choice to proceed with the order.
- Website Security
Basketsgalore uses Geotrust's Secure's eBusinessID Web Server Certificate. Payments are submitted online using protocol 128 bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer), the strongest commercially available level of encryption.
To view the Security certificate confirming this, you will see a padlock in your browser status bar, or next to the address bar on the page where you enter your credit card details, which indicates that the encryption is taking place. Clicking on this padlock symbol will display the certificate details, including issuing company and validity dates
Nevertheless, if you prefer, we also offer you the option of submitting your order by telephone on +44 (0) 28 9145 2412. Our customer service lines are open Monday to Friday 10am - 6pm (GMT). All calls are charged at the standard national rate.
Secure Payment
All payments are securely processed by world class Elavon Merchant Services, Europe’s largest & most trusted processor and acquirer of credit and debit card transactions.
- Delivery
All address information must be accurate including the postcode where appropriate and the recipient's telephone number. We cannot accept responsibility for late or non-delivery if the recipient's address and telephone details are insufficient or incorrect. The goods shall be deemed to have been delivered, when the courier obtains receipt of the goods confirmation from any person at that address.
It is the customer's duty to ensure that someone will be home to sign for the gift, which will be delivered by third party couriers. Where the courier is unable to find a person to accept delivery, a calling card will be left for the recipient to contact the courier and arrange to pick-up from the local depot or agree an alternative delivery time or alternative location at the discretion of the courier. If the recipient fails to make contact in good time, the goods are returned to us and a charge will be made for re-delivery to the original or an alternative address. The purchaser will also be charged for any items, which have become unsuitable for sale and need replacing such as perishable items such as cheese and fruit which have short shelf lives.
We employ third-party courier services to deliver your gifts and hampers. Although customers can request a specific delivery day, and we provide an indication of typical delivery times, specific delivery times or dates cannot always be guaranteed. Claims for non-delivery must be made within 20 days.
- Returns, Refunds, Cancellations & Damages
Damages
We are dedicated in ensuring all our gifts arrive with you in perfect condition. In the rare event of a gift being damaged, please contact us within 3 days by telephone, or email us at returns@irishgourmet.co.uk Damaged Goods must be returned to us suitably packaged. We will replace or refund the items concerned.
Unwanted/Unsuitable Goods
Unwanted or unsuitable goods can be returned within 7 working days of receipt, as long as the goods are in perfect condition, and the packaging remains in an “as new” state. Both the despatch and return costs will be the customer’s responsibility, and will be reimbursed by us only in the case of damaged, faulty or incorrectly supplied goods. We recommend using a reliable insured courier, or registered post, to return the item. In accordance with the European Directive on Distance Selling, perishable goods or customised goods made according to custom specifications may not be returned.
Please contact us by telephone, or email us at returns@irishgourmet.co.uk to let us know that you would like to return an item. You will then need to print and fill out our Returns Form and return it with the unwanted item. All returns must be packaged to prevent damage, with the Returns Form enclosed. After we have received the goods, a refund will be made to the purchaser's credit card, this cost excludes the cost of delivery.
Cancellations
In accordance with the EU Distance Selling Directive you have the right to cancel the contract up to 7 working days starting the day after delivery. In this situation please contact us to let us know you would like to cancel your order and then please return the goods to us. The goods must be unused, in perfect condition, & in their original packaging.
You may cancel an order up to 24 hours before the requested delivery date. However, if we receive notice of your cancellation later than 24 hours before the delivery date, you may be too late to halt the delivery. To cancel your order if the goods have already been dispatched, you must notify our customer services team by email to customerservices@irishgourmet.co.uk
- Substitutions
Whilst every effort is made to supply items as specified, the contents of each gift are subject to availability. Irish Gourmet reserves the right to substitute any items where appropriate, and guarantee that all replacements are of equal or greater value. Plates, glasses and other props shown in photographs may not be included in a hamper unless specifically listed. Wine vintages and labels may vary from those shown.
- Alcohol
Sale of Alcohol Items containing alcohol can only be ordered and delivered to those 18 years of age and over.
- Force Majeure
Irish Gourmet will exercise every reasonable effort to meet the requested despatch date. We shall not, however, be liable for any loss or damage due to delays or failure to ship resulting from any cause beyond its reasonable control, such as, but not limited to, compliance with laws or regulations, acts of God, acts or omissions of the Purchaser, acts of civil or military authority, judicial action, defaults of sub-contractors or suppliers, labour disputes, failure or delays in transportation, embargoes, wars or riots.
- Privacy Policy
At Irish Gourmet we are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
We collect information about you for two reasons: firstly, to process your order and secondly, to provide you with the best possible service. At no time will we provide any information about you to third parties. We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent. We will not email you in the future unless you have given us your consent. Only by signing up for our newsletter will you receive emails other than correspondence regarding your order. We promise that we will send no more than 6 emails per calendar year. You have the option to remove your name from our mailing list at any time by sending an email to unsubscribe@irishgourmet.co.uk
This website uses 'session' cookies which are temporary cookies that remain in the cookie file of your browser until you leave the website. These cookies cannot be used by themselves to identify you and your visit. You may choose to disable cookies in your web browser privacy settings in which case it will not affect your visit to our website or affect your online shopping activities.
How we store information
We use a secure server (SSL) to encrypt all of your payment information. We use strong security measures to prevent the loss, misuse and alteration of your information once it is in our records.

Complaints
In the event that you have a complaint please notify us in writing via email to: complaints@irishgourmet.co.uk Any comments you have will be welcomed by us, taken very seriously and treated in the strictest confidence and dealt with immediately. We will acknowledge your complaint within 48 hours and give you a timescale for resolving your complaint and keep you informed of progress
